Katniss pushed the arms, of whatever tried to touch her, away as she pushed herself forward to run. She hadn’t heard Rick give an answer so she just assumed that she had heard her and began to run. She just kept running and running — from what she could tell the creatures couldn’t run and that was a very good thing, she was sure they would both be dead if they could catch up to them.

The light got closer and closer until she realized it was wall of some kind and above it was where the light was coming — they needed to get over the wall. Katniss was young and quiet athletic, she quickly wrapped her bow around her and jumped at the wall — it was surprisingly easy to get over. But that didn’t stop her from turning around and holding out a hand to Rick.

                      "——— Come on!”

Katniss yelled as she waited, she soon realized she was helping the man that killed Peeta. But she understood now, that wasn’t Peeta. This man was just playing the Game, just like Katniss.

Rick didn’t have time to think, he simply acted. He kicked at the ground, ignored the fact he was already out of breath and pushed himself forward. He was doing this for Carl, he was going to save his son no matter what it took. He wasn’t surviving for just himself anymore, he was surviving to keep his son alive. The walkers were behind them now, but he couldn’t help but feel as if more and more were ‘magically’ appearing behind them, coming from thin air.

He focused on the light at the end of the tunnel, quite literally. He reached out for it, praying, hoping that the two of them would make it out alive, that the Capitol wouldn’t force down some kind of barrier to stop them from getting out. That’s when he noticed the wall, for someone of his age, he was very athletic, he had done a lot of training in his past life. He jumped the wall with great ease.

When he heard the huntresses voice, he realised she was still alive. They were both okay for now. He stood tall once over the wall and stared into the young woman’s eyes, fear in his own. They’d made it.
