Faint scratching and alternative noises which would only signify either Walkers or intruders had snapped the woman out of a daze, reaching for the pistol safely tucked unto a holster. Years of watching her brother do the same had almost made Jess a carbon copy, adjusting to her surroundings —- - alone. Fear was relevant, but Jess Grimes was dauntless.
With a swift turn of the knob, Jess found herself staring at an unidentified male being attacked by a small party of walkers. The woman honestly did not know which would be more dangerous —- - “ Hey! Hey, behind you! “ Jess calls out, thinking that the stranger would’ve reacted so quickly, and in the spur of the moment, the female aims with precision, pulling the trigger as red decorated the pavement.
” You could’ve gotten yourself killed, assho — - “
A pause.
“ —- - R - Rick? ”
Adventuring out of the prison was always a risk for Rick. He didn’t like it, he already missed the comfort of the four fences that surrounded his home. Yes, home. It was a place he could now call home. Lori would have the baby there, Carl would grow up away from the outside world and it would be secure. He could already imagine it, the rest of his life there. However, they needed supplies and the only place they would find them until they fully cleared the prison was in the town outside.
Little had he expected to almost be taken down by a group of walkers. This was the main reason he didn’t like exploring the outside world nowadays - he wasn’t sure he’d make it back. He had a knife, his colt python and a couple of bullets, it wasn’t enough. He hadn’t even realised there had been a walker behind him until an oddly familiar voice called out to warn him. He watched the walker hit the floor with a thud.
His eyes then diverted to the young woman that had saved him.
