laidre:

oh how she’d been desperate to be reunited with her loved ones,
and now that she had the hold on a few — there’s no way she’d allow
them to slip away.

rick was someone she’d grown close to, having actively fight
fight at his side and being someone he could lean some weight on
if need be. he was someone he trusted with her life.
but even the good feelings of being found dwinndled into pain,
he tried to save everyone including her father and no, she did not blame him.
but she understood that he tried to fix it all.

a soft sniffle and a smile was given in reply.
no she didn’t want to cry, this was suppose to be a happy moment.
’ i’m happy that all of you are okay. ’

was this all who had with him? not beth, or glenn?
’ bob and sasha…’ her voice trailed off knowing they’d understand.

Deep down, he’d known she would make it. She was one of the survivors, one of the people that fought until they got where they needed to be. Rick couldn’t help but notice, however, that Glenn wasn’t with her, that she held a sort of emptiness.

That’s when he began to worry, began to look around in hopes that Glenn would appear out of nowhere and all would be well. He peered down at her, sorrow within his eyes, if Glenn was missing, they would find him, he was sure of it. He wasn’t stupid and he knew how to keep himself alive, that and Rick owed it to him. After Glenn had saved him from the tank that day, he owed his entire life to him.

Glenn was the reason he found his family.

Not all of them were okay, plenty of them were dead and gone. Hershel, Judith…God knows how many more. At the mention of Bob and Sasha, his stomach turned. They were gone, he could tell from the tormented look in her eyes.

“I’m sorry,” was all he could seem to process. What else could he say? There were never any words to sum up moments like these.
