She leaned a little on him, walking clumsily to get out of there as soon as they could, surrounding his back with her arm, seeing that he was as injured as her. “I haven’t seen anybody.” she whispered, but still, she looked around them. The walkers were everywhere she looked, moving freely in where, since a few minutes ago, had been their home. “Rick, I-I think we’re alone.” she whispered, knowing that her words were even more painful for him than for her. Trying to sooth it, she added. “Maybe everybody else is already gone. Far away from here.”
It’s what she thought they must do, as they kept moving forward, the broken down railing in front of them. “We must keep going.” She whispered.
It was hard to support them both, but he forced himself to do so anyway. He chose to ignore her, to carry on - if he didn’t find his son and his daughter, there was no point in him leaving. It didn’t matter if she hadn’t seen them, he would find them, he would search the entire Goddamn prison if he had to. “No, they’re here,” he forced the words, it was difficult for him to speak. They wouldn’t have left without him, if Carl had made his way to Judith, he would attempt to find his dad next. He wouldn’t have left, he wouldn’t have walked away without Rick.
Rick kept his arm around her waist, dragging her along with himself. It was becoming difficult to walk, he wasn’t sure he would even be able to make it out of the prison. “We don’t leave until we find them, you understand?”
