Michonne began calming herself down, knowing that breaking down wasn’t the easiest way to deal with things. Talking to people is the known number one way to, but as almost anyone could tell, she wasn’t big on talking. But she was comfortable with Rick, and she actually enjoyed talking to the man. He was almost the exact opposite of Mike, and that was what made everything the smallest bit easier.

A sigh left her lips, and she cradled her head in her hands— a method of relaxing. Things weren’t easy and they would never be, but the man was right— no one deserved any of this.

“It’ll never be fair— nothing will. But we just have to endure it and make the most of it."

They had more in common then he would have liked. He would have preferred that they shared common interests or hobbies, instead, one of the things they had in common was that they had both lost a child. He reached out for her, placed a hand on her back to support her. She was his friend, this was the least he owed her. If she was still struggling with the death of her son, he would help her through it as much as he could. Hell, he was barely over Judith’s death.

Michonne had a valid point, it would never be fair and there was nothing they could do about it. At some point, they would die, and none of it would have mattered.

"You’re right,” he sighed, knowing they couldn’t sit around and mope all day. “Come on, we can’t sit around all day,” with that, he stood tall.
