Sheriff Rick meets young Daryl who is known as a little brother of Merle Dixon, a notorious drug dealer. Daryl is detained because of Merle’s crime and interrogated abusively. Rick finds out it, and decides to supervise him in order to protect him. Daryl is taken to Rick’s home and has dinner with his family. Then his wife dies after giving birth to their child, and Daryl wants to comfort Rick but doesn’t know how to do. They get comfortable with each other and deepen their friendship.
