Beth wanted to believe Rick when he said she would tell them, meaning everyone back at the prison, that she loved them but she just couldn’t. It would be a miracle if Beth survived, a true miracle.
Beth’s vision was getting blurrier as she looked past Rick into the night sky. Her body was cold and she was almost gone. As her vision was going out, Beth saw someone above her, almost like an angel, it was her father. “I can see him, Rick….I see daddy….”
At the mention of Hershel, his stomach turned. The man he had idolised, the man that had guided him through so much was with them, was watching as he didn’t do anything to save his daughters life - he couldn’t, there was nothing left for him to do.
He looked to where Beth was staring up at, knowing there would be no one there, not for him anyway. He was thankful that she was going peacefully, that she felt no pain and that her dad was there with her.
