She’d thought they’d ask more questions. After
all, she didn’t have the same Georgian drawl as
the rest of them, and so her presence could be
considered questionable. She was thankful, how-
ever, that they hadn’t — she didn’t trust her ability
to be able to answer them, not quite yet.Bit by bit, she’d disperse information — where
her gun had come from, whom it had belonged
to, once — Marcus. Who she’d been travelling
with — mysteriously referred to as ‘my partner’.
She’d let them come to whatever conclusions
they did, answering questions only when asked.
Some seemed more curious than others.Rick, however— she liked him. Could follow the
man, and readily too. Not like others she’d met
over the duration of whatever this was.
❝ They will. ❞
Rick should have known that the pigs were bound
to be carrying some sort of virus, something that
would bring darkness to the prison, the place they
had just nursed back to life. Danger lurked in the
shadows, ready to terminate the remaining life that
spread through the cell blocks. Little did Rick know
that the pigs would cause more trouble than they
were worth.
Hershel would be done soon, at least he could only
hope so. He didn’t want to have to deal with the pigs
all day, he had other things to worry about, like keeping
the prison in order, making sure everyone had been fed
and felt safe behind his fences. It was his duty as their
leader - the title he’d been given without having been
asked if he wanted it. He had no choice but to want it.
Perhaps, the bug they carried was nothing, perhaps
all would be okay and they would move past it - who
was he kidding? Nothing was ever okay.

❝ What’s your plan for today? ❞
Curiosity got the better of him.
She hadn’t planned upon slacking off – those days were long gone, and she’d gotten into the habit of doing something...
They all had jobs to do. It was rare that people would slack and do nothing all day. There was always something to do...
It was a nice day; and for once Beth didn’t have to watch Judith. Not that she minded, or anything. She loved her. But...
