The boy ignored the way Rick jerked away from his touch, only removing his hand when the splotch of blood had been wiped clean and out of site. He was still completely shocked by the bond that had somehow grown between the two, in some ways Parker actually looked up to the man which was a miracle in itself.
“—Do you think that will help? Keeping me away?” Parker didn’t believe so, there was no containing chaos, which is exactly what this prison had become.
When the blood was gone, he felt somewhat relieved. He could still hear the squawking the pigs made when he sliced into the abdomen. It wouldn’t have bothered him so much if he hadn’t been feeding them to walkers. He toughened up and focused on their actual problem. There was a plague spreading and either one of them could get it.
❝ If it means you don’t get the infection, then yeah. ❞ He wasn’t going to risk Parker or Carl getting it, not when the infection was as serious as it was. ❝ You’re going to have to stay in the Warden’s block with the others for a while. Until we get this thing over with. ❞
